A venereal sore or ulcer; specifically, the initial lesion of
true syphilis, whether forming a distinct ulcer or not; --
called also {hard chancre}, {indurated chancre}, and
{Hunterian chancre}.
{Soft chancre}. A chancroid. See {Chancroid}.
