1. See {Coxcomb}.
2. (Bot.) A plant ({Celosia cristata}), of many varieties,
cultivated for its broad, fantastic spikes of brilliant
flowers; -- sometimes called {garden cockscomb}. Also the
{Pedicularis}, or lousewort, the {Rhinanthus
Crista-galli}, and the {Onobrychis Crista-galli}.
