its dyeing properties. Brasque \Brasque\, n. [F.] (Metal.)
A paste made by mixing powdered charcoal, coal, or coke with
clay, molasses, tar, or other suitable substance. It is used
for lining hearths, crucibles, etc. Called also {steep}.
