Vacuole \Vac"u*ole\, n. [L. vacuus empty: cf. F. vacuole.]
(Biol.)
A small air cell, or globular space, in the interior of
organic cells, either containing air, or a pellucid watery
liquid, or some special chemical secretions of the cell
protoplasm.
