Resulting or issuing from a combination; existing or
following as a result or consequence.
{Resultant force} or {motion} (Mech.), a force which is the
result of two or more forces acting conjointly, or a
motion which is the result of two or more motions
combined. See {Composition of forces}, under
{Composition}.

That which results. Specifically:
(a) (Mech.) A reultant force or motion.
(b) (Math.) An eliminant.
The resultant of homogeneous general functions of n
variables is that function of their coefficients
which, equaled to zero, expresses in the simplest
terms the condition of the possibility of their
